Legendary Bollywood singer Bobby Lahiri Funeral services are being held in Mumbai today.
The family said in a statement that the
funeral will take place on February 17 as Bobby Lahiri, Bobby's son, is waiting
to return from Los Angeles.
Lead singer and composer BP Lahiri
passed away at a Mumbai hospital on Tuesday night at the age of 69. His family
said his funeral will take place Thursday.

The family said in a statement that the
funeral will take place on February 17 as Bobby's son Lahari waits to return
from Los Angeles. "This is a very bad move for us. Our dear Bobby went to

stars including the 1995 Hindi film Rock Dancer and the English model and singer
Samantha Fox's 2015 Punjabi song Patiala Back on Snoop Dog.

Deepak Namjushi, director of Credit
Care Hospital, said Lahiri had "many health problems" and passed away
on Tuesday night in Mumbai, the capital of Indian cinema.
Namjushi told the Press Trust of India
news agency that he was discharged from the hospital on Monday for a month, but
was re-admitted on Tuesday after his health deteriorated.

He has composed music for dozens of
films starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn and Mithun Chakraborty.
Lahiri, popularly known as Bobby Da,
danced to hit songs such as Walking, Disco Dancer and Trunk in Bollywood films
of the 1970s and 80s.
His music was also popular in Bengali
films.
Lahiri voiced many characters for the
Hindi language version of Hollywood films.
In the mid-2000s, he won the intellectual
property case against American rapper Dr. Drew.
Famous politicians and Bollywood
celebrities have expressed condolences.
State head Narendra Modi tweeted that
Lahiri's music is "sweeping, flawlessly communicating assorted
opinions" and that "everything positions can connect with his
work".
"His energetic nature will be
remembered by all. His demise is sad. Condolences to his family and fans. Om
Shanti," Modi said.
Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman called
Lahiri "the disco king of Hindi cinema" on Twitter.
Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar has said
that Lahiri's voice is the reason why millions of people, including me, dance.
"Thank you so much for the
wonderful music you provided me," he wrote on Twitter.
Lahiri also spent some time in
politics. He joined the Hindu Nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party in 2014, but
the party in the parliamentary elections in Srirampur, West Bengal .
Lahiri is survived by his wife Satrani
Lahiri and a son and a daughter.
